I think 1989 is probably my favourite year of all time for dance music. This year was certainly the most immersed I ever was in both hip hop and house, just through listening to the radio and buying compilations and as many 12″ singles as pocket money would allow. For this I have to thank both Jeff Young (BBC Radio 1) and The Man Ezeke (BBC Radio Bedfordshire).
